Tim Franssen

Tim has been a board member of the Nuts Foundation since day one. The Nuts initiative is a community of healthcare IT suppliers and a supporting foundation, that together work towards a re-usable, flexible, simple and safe decentralized infrastructure for data exchange in the healthcare sector. Tim considers open standards for healthcare interoperability an absolute necessity, and has a very strong focus on maintaining the privacy of patients in the exchange of medical data. Tim is also a product developer at Nedap Healthcare, one of the leading EHR suppliers for home care and long stay care in the Netherlands. Nedap Healthcare (nedap-healthcare.com) is one of the vendors investing time and money in the Nuts community. Tim has a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and a Master’s degree in Human Media Interaction, which enables him to look at the complicated interactions between technology and healthcare from surprising angles.
