Marcel studied Information Security Management at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. He started at Deloitte with IT auditing and quickly transitioned to IAM advisory. Projects varied from internal corporate IAM and PAM implementations to more strategic advisory around the CIAM across sectors.
After more than 3 years he switched from Deloitte to ING where he started as Customer journey expert on authentication in the web channel called Mijn ING. Quickly he became responsible Product owner to implement strong customer authentication and the project to transition from a NL-authentication-monolith to the global authentication platform based on micro services. For more than a year, Marcel has been an active member of the Fido consumer working group, working on guidelines.
Since 2021 Marcel is as Product Area Lead fraud prevention responsible for Authentication, Consent, fraud prevention measures and fraud awareness within ING Netherlands.
