Since July 2019 Andrea leads the Unit “Knowledge Management and Innovative system” in charge of Knowledge Management, Data Analytics, Web technologies and IT Governance, where he leads the adoption of advanced digital technologies to streamline business processes, decision making and collaboration, towards an efficient digital administration.
From July 2016 to June 2019, he led “eGovernment and Trust” in Directorate General ‘Communication networks, content and technology’ (DG CONNECT), whose mission was to advance the quality and innovation of public administrations and accelerating the large-scale public sector and private sector use of trusted identification and trust services in the digital single market by leadership in the eGovernment agenda and in eIDAS.
Specialties: Nuclear engineer by background, he has carried out postgraduate study in Artificial Intelligence. He is deeply involved in defining and administering R&D programme on security and related policy activities.
